WHY WE'RE GOING GREEN THIS CHRISTMAS

FLOWERBX is proud to announce our first real Christmas tree offering this year in a bid to reduce our carbon footprint as a global brand. Both a safe and natural option, they have been sourced direct from a local UK tree farm supplier where Christmas trees are grown as a sustainable crop; for every tree harvested, they plant at least one tree to ensure the production remains eco-friendly.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF GOING NATURAL THIS YEAR?

Real Christmas trees provide a haven of wildlife before going off to their new home and are a renewable resource, so once finished with they can be completely recycled after use. In addition, they also remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere which means one acre of trees provides enough oxygen for at least 18 people. Meanwhile, artificial trees use large quantities of liquid fossil fuels in their production so have a substantial carbon footprint, coupled with the majority of them having to be transported half way around the world. Artificial trees are also non-biodegradable, so while they may last a number of years, they will last eternity in landfill and make a big impression on Planet Earth.

OUR CHOSEN TREE THIS YEAR

With its shiny, dark green needles, a beautiful symmetrical shape and good needle retention, it’s no wonder the Norman Fir is such a popular Christmas tree choice for the season. Less compact than the Fraser Fir, this attractive tree also bears strong, layered and well-spaced out branches. making it a joy for the family to decorate from all angles.
